ProCare Therapy, a leading provider of educational staffing solutions, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time School-Based Behavior Paraprofessional to join our dynamic team in San Rafael, CA. As a Behavior Paraprofessional, you will play a vital role in supporting students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities within a school environment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct support to students with special needs, focusing on managing and addressing behavioral challenges.
• Implement behavior intervention plans developed by the school's multidisciplinary team under the guidance of a certified behavior specialist.
• Support students in developing and practicing appropriate social skills, self-regulation strategies, and conflict resolution techniques.
• Utilize positive behavior management techniques and de-escalation strategies to promote a safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and other professionals to ensure consistent implementation of behavior plans and strategies.
• Assist with data collection and documentation to track student progress and communicate relevant information to the team.
• Foster a positive and supportive relationship with students, encouraging their academic and personal growth.
• Participate in team meetings and professional development sessions to enhance your skills and stay updated on best practices in behavior management.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent. Some college coursework in education, psychology, or related field is preferred.
• Experience working with students with behavioral challenges, preferably in an educational setting.
• Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies.
• Ability to implement behavior intervention plans and follow protocols provided by the certified behavior specialist.
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with students.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with teachers, parents, and the multidisciplinary team.
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the individual needs of students.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
