As a School Psychologist near Fishers, IN you will play a critical role in supporting the academic, emotional, and behavioral well-being of students within an educational setting. Your expertise in psychology and education will help assess students' needs, provide counseling and interventions, and collaborate with educators and families to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assessment and Evaluation:

  • Conduct psychological assessments to identify students' strengths, challenges, and learning needs.
  • Administer and interpret standardized tests to assess cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning.
  • Analyze assessment data to develop comprehensive profiles of students' abilities and areas of concern.

• Individualized Support:

  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Provide recommendations for appropriate interventions and strategies to support students' learning, behavior, and social-emotional development.

• Counseling and Intervention:

  • Offer individual and group counseling to students experiencing social, emotional, or behavioral difficulties.
  • Teach coping skills, problem-solving techniques, and conflict resolution strategies to help students succeed in school and life.

• Prevention and Education:

  • Develop and implement programs to prevent and address bullying, substance abuse, and other social issues affecting students.
  • Provide training to school staff, parents, and students on topics related to mental health, learning strategies, and behavioral management.

• Crisis Response:

  • Assist in crisis intervention and management, offering support to students and staff during emergencies or challenging situations.

• Collaboration:

  • Work closely with teachers, administrators, special education teams, and other professionals to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Consult with parents and guardians to address concerns and provide strategies for supporting students at home.

• Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Compile and analyze data related to student outcomes, interventions, and progress, using this information to inform decision-making and program improvement.

• Advocacy:

  • Advocate for the needs of students with disabilities and promote understanding of mental health and learning issues within the school community.

Qualifications:

• Education: Master's or doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field from an accredited institution.
• License and Certification: Valid Indiana Department of Education School Psychologist license or eligibility for licensure.
• Knowledge: Proficiency in psychological assessment, intervention strategies, and special education regulations.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with students, parents, educators, and colleagues.
• Empathy: Ability to understand and empathize with students' diverse backgrounds and challenges.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to develop effective interventions.
