23/24- School Psychologists Needed Near Fishers, Indiana
As a School Psychologist near Fishers, IN you will play a critical role in supporting the academic, emotional, and behavioral well-being of students within an educational setting. Your expertise in psychology and education will help assess students' needs, provide counseling and interventions, and collaborate with educators and families to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Assessment and Evaluation:
- Conduct psychological assessments to identify students' strengths, challenges, and learning needs.
- Administer and interpret standardized tests to assess cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning.
- Analyze assessment data to develop comprehensive profiles of students' abilities and areas of concern.

Individualized Support:
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Provide recommendations for appropriate interventions and strategies to support students' learning, behavior, and social-emotional development.

Counseling and Intervention:
- Offer individual and group counseling to students experiencing social, emotional, or behavioral difficulties.
- Teach coping skills, problem-solving techniques, and conflict resolution strategies to help students succeed in school and life.

Prevention and Education:
- Develop and implement programs to prevent and address bullying, substance abuse, and other social issues affecting students.
- Provide training to school staff, parents, and students on topics related to mental health, learning strategies, and behavioral management.

Crisis Response:
- Assist in crisis intervention and management, offering support to students and staff during emergencies or challenging situations.

Collaboration:
- Work closely with teachers, administrators, special education teams, and other professionals to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Consult with parents and guardians to address concerns and provide strategies for supporting students at home.

Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Compile and analyze data related to student outcomes, interventions, and progress, using this information to inform decision-making and program improvement.

Advocacy:
- Advocate for the needs of students with disabilities and promote understanding of mental health and learning issues within the school community.
Qualifications:
- Education: Master's or doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field from an accredited institution.
- License and Certification: Valid Indiana Department of Education School Psychologist license or eligibility for licensure.
- Knowledge: Proficiency in psychological assessment, intervention strategies, and special education regulations.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with students, parents, educators, and colleagues.
- Empathy: Ability to understand and empathize with students' diverse backgrounds and challenges.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to develop effective interventions.
- Ethics: Adherence to ethical standards and confidentiality guidelines.
