Job Description

Duties would Include : The LSSP is responsible for conducting psychological evaluations, providing consultations, and delivering direct skill intervention to stakeholders supporting access to and progress within the general education curriculum for students with identified emotional/ behavioral needs.

Responsibilities :

  • Conduct evaluations for students suspected to require specially designed instruction in addition to reevaluations for students identified as requiring special education services
  • The LSSP would be serving as a member of the admissions, review, and dismissal committee for students who have identified emotional and behavioral needs
  • Providing consultation to teachers, parents, and administrators regarding implementation of IEP emotional/ behavioral supports
  • Provide direct skill instruction to students and involved stakeholders to facilitate students’ progress within their IEP
  • Maintaining documentation of evaluations and progress reports that have been done.
  • Provide training to campus staff to support professional development related to identification of mental health and behavioral needs.
  • Support campus counselors and administrators to conduct crisis assessments and provide recommendations for community/family support.
  • Preform other duties as assigned but the director of the special education department
  • The LSSP will be working in high stress situations and may need to work irregular hours that have frequent interruptions. Professionalism and confidentiality is needed.
