School Psychologist

ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated and qualified School Psychologist for a school district in Plainfield, NJ. As a School Psychologist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the mental health and academic success of our students. You will collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify students' strengths and areas for improvement in social, emotional, and academic domains.
• Provide individual and group counseling to students dealing with a range of issues, including but not limited to behavior, mental health, and academic challenges.
• Collaborate with teachers and parents to develop and implement effective interventions and accommodations.
• Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and provide recommendations for appropriate services and accommodations.
• Support crisis intervention and prevention efforts within the school community.
• Provide consultation and guidance to teachers, parents, and administrators regarding students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
• Maintain accurate and confidential student records, including assessment results and progress notes.

Qualifications:

• Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program.
• Valid New Jersey School Psychologist Certification.
• Demonstrated experience in conducting psycho-educational assessments and interpreting assessment results.
• Strong understanding of special education laws, including IDEA and Section 504.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Compassionate and dedicated to supporting the well-being of students.
