Position Overview: We are currently seeking a qualified and dedicated School Psychologist to join our team for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year. As a School Psychologist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the well-being of our students by providing assessment, intervention, and consultation services. The ideal candidate will be passionate about contributing to a positive school culture and collaborating with educators, parents, and community members.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychological assessments to identify students' strengths and areas of need
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop and implement effective interventions and support plans
  • Provide counseling and crisis intervention services to students as needed
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to the development of educational plans
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address academic, behavioral, and social-emotional concerns
  • Offer consultation to teachers and staff on effective classroom strategies and behavior management techniques
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student records in compliance with state and federal regulations

Qualifications:

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology
  • Valid Maine Department of Education certification as a School Psychologist
  • Strong knowledge of psychological principles and assessment tools
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
  • Experience working in a K-12 educational setting is preferred
