Position Overview: We are currently seeking a qualified and dedicated School Psychologist to join our team for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year. As a School Psychologist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the well-being of our students by providing assessment, intervention, and consultation services. The ideal candidate will be passionate about contributing to a positive school culture and collaborating with educators, parents, and community members.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological assessments to identify students' strengths and areas of need
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop and implement effective interventions and support plans
- Provide counseling and crisis intervention services to students as needed
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to the development of educational plans
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address academic, behavioral, and social-emotional concerns
- Offer consultation to teachers and staff on effective classroom strategies and behavior management techniques
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records in compliance with state and federal regulations
Qualifications:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology
- Valid Maine Department of Education certification as a School Psychologist
- Strong knowledge of psychological principles and assessment tools
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
- Experience working in a K-12 educational setting is preferred
