We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate contract School Psychologist to join a school district near Woodbridge, CT. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students. As a School Psychologist, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic and social-emotional development of our students.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to identify students' strengths, weaknesses, and needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavioral intervention plans (BIPs).
  • Provide counseling and therapeutic services to students to address emotional and behavioral challenges.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of school-wide initiatives to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support teachers and staff in creating and implementing strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and provide recommendations for interventions and accommodations.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student records in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Stay updated on the latest research, best practices, and legal requirements in the field of school psychology.

Qualifications:

  • Master's or doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field.
  • Valid CT state certification as a School Psychologist.
  • Previous experience working with students in a school setting is preferred.
  • Strong assessment and evaluation skills, including experience conducting psychological evaluations and interpreting assessment results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and administrators.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Knowledge of special education laws and regulations.

Additional details: 

  • Position Type: Onsite for the 2023/2024 School Year
  • Caseload: PreK-6th grade
  • Work Schedule: 
    • Part time- 1 day per week for counseling services 
    • can be split into 2 half days if preferred 
  • Pay: Hourly
