This full-time opportunity runs from August 26, 2026, through June 11, 2027, with Monday through Friday hours. Licensed professionals in the state of Illinois are encouraged to apply for either of two unique positions, both of which make a profound impact on students and families navigating the special education process.

Available assignments include:

  • Early Childhood School Psychologist (0.6 FTE/3 days per week): Focus on screening and evaluating children ages 3-5 as they transition from early intervention and address requests for preschoolers across three preschools in Winnetka. Communication with new-to-special-education families, general education partners, and special ed teams is key. Attendance at IEP meetings and strong knowledge of early childhood special education mandates are essential.

  • School Psychologist (Grades K-4, 1.0 FTE/5 days per week): Responsible for comprehensive evaluations, leading Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) data team meetings, IEP facilitation (initial and re-evaluation), and supporting a collaborative problem-solving process. Clear communication with families and a sound understanding of special education law are required.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold current Illinois state licensure as a school psychologist
  • Demonstrated commitment to clear, compassionate communication
  • Experience with IEP facilitation and special education law required
  • Flexibility to travel to various school sites for the early childhood role
  • Prior experience conducting functional behavioral assessments preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct re-evaluations, eligibility meetings, and initial evaluations
