Take your expertise as a School Psychologist on the road and play a critical role in supporting students across elementary, middle, and high school levels in a contract assignment based near Arlington Heights, IL. This full-time role spans from August 26, 2026, through June 11, 2027, working Monday through Friday within a high-performing educational environment. Two positions are available, each with a unique focus:
Position 1: Early Childhood (0.6 FTE – 3 days/week)
- Provide screenings and evaluations for children turning three and transitioning from early intervention, as well as those ages 3–5 in response to screening/evaluation requests.
- Travel between three local preschools to provide services.
- Maintain ongoing communication with families new to special education, partnering with preschool educators and multidisciplinary teams.
- Attend IEP meetings and support families through the evaluation process.
- Apply strong knowledge of special education law and best practices in early childhood assessment.
Position 2: Grades K–4 (1.0 FTE – 5 days/week)
- Conduct evaluations for K–4 students, facilitate MTSS data team meetings, and participate actively in the IEP process.
- Provide support in problem-solving and collaborate closely with both families and educational staff.
- Lead initial and re-evaluation IEP meetings, ensuring legal compliance and clarity for all stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Valid Illinois School Psychologist License.
- Experience working with school-aged children, including early childhood populations.
- Deep understanding of special education law and best practices in assessment.
- Demonstrated strength in communication—especially with families new to special education services.
- Ability to travel locally for early childhood role.
- Commitment to professional collaboration and a student-centered approach.
