This full-time, contract position runs from August 26, 2026, through June 11, 2027, operating Monday through Friday. Licensed professionals in Illinois will support diverse learners and collaborate with school teams near Arlington Heights, IL.
Two specialized caseloads are available:
- Early Childhood School Psychologist (0.6 FTE, 3 days/week): Screening and evaluating children turning 3, supporting those exiting early intervention, and evaluating requests for students ages 3–5. This role requires travel between area preschools and collaboration with families, education partners, and special education teams.
- School Psychologist (Grades K–4, 1.0 FTE, 5 days/week): Conduct evaluations, facilitate MTSS data meetings, and support school teams throughout the IEP process, including both initial and re-evaluations. Strong family communication and knowledge of special education law are essential.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid State of Illinois School Psychologist license
- Prior experience in school psychology preferred
- For Early Childhood: Experience with early intervention transitions and preschool-aged evaluations highly desirable
- Strong communication skills with students, families, and educational staff
- In-depth understanding of special education law and best practices
- Commitment to clear documentation and collaboration in a multi-disciplinary team
- Willingness to travel between school locations as needed
Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations (initial, re-evaluation, and functional behavioral assessments)
- Attend and participate in IEP meetings
- Facilitate problem-solving and MTSS meetings
- Collaborate with general education and special education staff; communicate findings and recommendations with families
- Support the development and implementation of interventions
