Make a meaningful impact in education by supporting K-12 students as a School Psychologist in the Asheville area on a contract basis. This role centers around psychoeducational testing to determine eligibility for Exceptional Children’s services or to complete reevaluations. You’ll collaborate with educators and families, providing essential insights through cognitive, adaptive, and behavioral assessments, as well as special screenings as needed.
Qualifications:
- Current and active School Psychologist license in North Carolina
- Experience working with K-12 student populations preferred
- Strong background in administering a variety of psychoeducational assessments
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage and prioritize a dynamic caseload
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough evaluations for initial eligibility and reevaluations for EC services, including cognitive, behavioral, and adaptive assessments.
- Complete required documentation and present findings clearly to multidisciplinary teams.
- Work closely with teachers, parents, and special education staff to support students’ learning needs and ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records and track assessment timelines to support ongoing student services.
- Serve as a valued resource for strategies and interventions informed by assessment outcomes.

- Consistent weekday hours: 37.5 hours/week, Monday through Friday
