School Psychologist - Aurora, CO
Step into a dynamic, full-time contract position serving students from early childhood through high school across the Denver area. This engaging opportunity focuses on direct services for special education students, encompassing group and individual counseling, system-level mental health interventions, and collaboration with educational teams and families. Assignments are made on a first-come, first-served basis, ensuring a variety of age groups and a diverse set of experiences.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s, Specialist’s, or Doctorate degree in School Psychology
- Current CDE Special Service Provider License endorsement in School Psychology
- Demonstrated previous experience in a school setting is required
- Strong student assessment and intervention skills with up-to-date professional practice
- Excellent oral and written communication abilities
- Effective interpersonal and collaborative skills for engaging with students, families, and teams
- Calm under pressure and skilled in crisis intervention
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple responsibilities efficiently
- Culturally responsive approach to working with diverse communities
- Proficiency with computer technology for documentation and reporting
- Ability to complete district-required background check and fingerprinting
Responsibilities:
- Deliver group and individual counseling aligned with IEP goals
- Develop and implement classroom interventions and mental health supports
- Document services including progress reports, service logs, and IEP-related paperwork
- Conduct assessments—cognitive, behavioral, social/emotional—and author evaluation reports
- Perform threat and suicide risk assessments, assist with crisis management, and assist in developing safety plans
- Provide psychoeducation for students, staff, and families, along with academic and behavioral consultation
- Participate in IEP planning meetings, professional development, and collaborative team activities
- Connect families to community resources and support interventions for students on 504 plans
