What you’ll bring:
- Valid CDE Special Service Provider License endorsement in School Psychology
- Master’s, Specialist’s, or Doctorate degree in School Psychology
- Demonstrated school-based experience (previous work in educational settings required)
- Strong skills in cognitive, social, emotional, behavioral, and adaptive assessments
- Up-to-date on best practices in school psychology
- Excellent oral/written communication, interpersonal, and collaborative teaming skills
- Calm, effective decision-making in crisis or high-pressure situations
- Experience working with students and families from diverse backgrounds
- Strong computer literacy and documentation skills
- Ability to efficiently manage multiple priorities
Role highlights & key duties:
- Deliver direct counseling services to special education students (group and individual)
- Design and implement interventions for academic, social/emotional, and mental health needs
- Document services, provide progress monitoring, and participate in IEP development
- Complete student assessments and formal evaluations; write comprehensive reports
- Support crisis intervention, conduct suicide/threat risk assessments, and implement safety plans
- Collaborate with teachers, families, outside agencies, and participate in team meetings
- Contribute to professional development for staff and consultations for general education students
- Connect families with community resources and conduct home or wellness visits as needed
