We are partnering with Aurora Public Schools to hire three School Psychologists for leave coverage assignments throughout the 2026–2027 school year.
Available Opportunities
1.0 FTE: Immediate start, with coverage transitioning to another school within the district in October. Coverage is expected through December, with a potential additional assignment afterward.
0.7 FTE: Elementary school assignment through December.
0.8 FTE: Elementary school assignment through the end of the school year.
Specific school assignments and coverage dates will vary by position.
Position Responsibilities
School Psychologists will provide comprehensive school-based psychological, behavioral, and mental health services, including:
Provide individual and group counseling based on IEP mental health goals
Develop academic, social-emotional, behavioral, and mental health interventions
Complete cognitive, social-emotional, behavioral, and adaptive assessments
Conduct psychological evaluations and interpret assessment results
Complete Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and assist with Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIPs)
Provide crisis intervention and support, including suicide risk assessments and safety planning
Assist with threat assessments and crisis response
Support students with IEPs and 504 plans
Participate in IEP, special education, MTSS, and other collaborative meetings
Collaborate with students, families, teachers, administrators, and outside providers
Provide consultation and professional development to school staff
Maintain service logs, progress reports, evaluation reports, and other required documentation
Support general education behavioral and social-emotional needs
Assist with identifying and coordinating community resources
Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and professional learning communities
Qualifications
Previous school-based experience required
Master's Degree in Psychology, Specialist's Degree, or Doctorate in School Psychology
Active Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Special Services Provider License with School Psychology endorsement
Strong assessment, communication, organization, and collaboration skills
Ability to remain calm and effective during crisis situations
Strong computer/technology skills
Credentialing Requirements
Candidates will be required to complete the district's background check and fingerprinting process prior to beginning the assignment.
