Shape the future of students’ growth by offering your expertise as a School Psychologist on a contract basis, providing support across multiple school sites serving PK-12 students near Baton Rouge, LA. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely within multidisciplinary teams to facilitate educational assessments, support discipline requests, and ensure the academic and social success of all students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychoeducational evaluations and submit comprehensive written reports within established timelines.
- Serve as a resource to families, referring them to community supports and offering direct educational interventions when needed.
- Work hand-in-hand with school staff, discussing and implementing effective strategies for students and their families.
- Consult with parents, educators, and district teams regarding assessment results, behavioral interventions, and teaching/learning strategies.
- Maintain meticulous records and documentation to support service continuity and program accountability.
- Take part in in-service training opportunities, interpret the assessment process for school personnel and families, and provide expert guidance around test interpretation and program planning.
- Support compliance with IDEA and participate in eligibility determination alongside multidisciplinary peers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- NASP certification or LSSP credential from the Louisiana State Board of Examiners and Psychologists.
- Experience in administering and interpreting a variety of standardized assessment tools.
- Demonstrated ability to write thorough and insightful evaluation reports.
- Strong understanding of special education eligibility standards.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging a wide audience, including both professionals and families.
- Proven organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and meet evaluation deadlines.
- Bilingual skills are a plus!
This contract position runs from August 18, 2026, to May 24, 2027, for 29 hours per week—with assignments spanning several campuses and age groups. Candidates must successfully complete a district background check and fingerprinting, and pass a technical screening before proceeding.
