Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a vital support for K-12 students near Black Mountain, NC. As a Licensed School Psychologist, you'll make a truly meaningful impact—your primary focus will be conducting evaluations and reevaluations for students in the Exceptional Children (EC) program. Collaborate with dedicated educators, administer specialized assessments, and help shape each student’s educational journey.
In this role, you'll work a consistent Monday-Friday schedule, 37.5 hours a week, from now through late May 2026. The assignment is centered on eligibility determination: cognitive, adaptive, behavioral assessments, and other screenings essential for special education decision-making. Your expertise will empower students, families, and staff with the insights needed to provide effective support.
Qualifications:
- Licensed as a School Psychologist in the state of North Carolina
- Previous experience in K-12 school settings preferred
- Strong understanding of cognitive, adaptive, behavioral, and eligibility-based assessments
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and fostering an inclusive school environment
Responsibilities:
- Administer and interpret a variety of assessments and screenings for EC program eligibility
- Complete reevaluations in accordance with state and federal guidelines
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to assist in eligibility determinations
- Prepare clear, comprehensive reports and participate in eligibility meetings
- Maintain meticulous documentation and case management
- Support students, families, and staff in understanding results and next steps
