School Psychologist in Chicago, IL

Key Qualifications:
- Master’s or specialist degree from a program in school psychology
- Valid state certification or licensure as a School Psychologist (or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience administering and interpreting educational, behavioral, and cognitive assessments
- Skilled in collaborating with teachers, administrators, and families for comprehensive student planning
- Strong communication, consultation, and documentation abilities
- Knowledge of current special education laws and evidence-based intervention strategies
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct formal psychological evaluations to assess learning, behavior, and mental health needs
- Consult with educators, parents, and other professionals regarding interventions and strategies
- Develop, contribute to, and help implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans
- Provide short-term counseling, crisis intervention, and skill-building to students
- Facilitate or participate in Response to Intervention (RTI) and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) initiatives
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and supportive school climate by advocating for students’ well-being
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with local and federal regulations
