This full-time contract opportunity covers the academic year from August 26, 2026, to June 11, 2027, with schedules running Monday through Friday. You’ll play a vital role in student assessment, supporting special education teams, and strengthening communication between school, family, and community partners.
Key Qualifications:
- Current School Psychologist license in the state of Illinois
- Experience or interest in serving elementary, middle, and high school populations
- Strong communication skills, particularly with families unfamiliar with the special education process
- In-depth knowledge of special education law and early childhood best practices
- Comfortable traveling between multiple local preschools as part of early childhood evaluations (for the 0.6 FTE role)
Typical Responsibilities:
- Conduct re-evaluations, eligibility meetings, initial evaluations, and functional behavioral assessments
- For the Early Childhood position: Screen and evaluate students ages 3-5, coordinate with local preschools, and guide families entering special education
- For the K-4 position: Evaluate K-4 students, lead MTSS data team meetings, facilitate problem-solving among support teams
- Attend and help facilitate IEP meetings, ensuring effective collaboration with families and staff
