This full-time, onsite contract position offers the opportunity to work closely with a collaborative team, ensuring students across multiple districts receive the guidance and support they need. With all site assignments within a brief commute from central Emporia, you'll be able to focus on meaningful student engagement and professional growth.
Qualifications
- Active and current School Psychologist license in the state of Kansas
- Experience working with students in K-12 educational settings preferred
- Strong understanding of psychological evaluation, intervention strategies, and special education processes
- Excellent communication and consultation skills for collaborating with educators, families, and fellow professionals
- Comfortable traveling between sites as needed, with all assignments within 20 minutes of Emporia
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments for K-12 students, identifying individual learning needs and challenges
- Provide direct interventions, counseling, and crisis support services as appropriate
- Develop recommendations and strategies for individualized education plans (IEPs) in partnership with educators and families
- Serve as a resource for faculty and staff on social, emotional, and behavioral matters
- Attend and actively participate in IEP, eligibility, and other relevant meetings
- Document and maintain accurate records in compliance with local and state guidelines
- Travel to assigned schools within close proximity of Emporia as needed
