This contract opportunity provides the chance to engage in a wide range of responsibilities, focusing significantly on discipline requests, and requires 29 hours per week throughout the academic year.
You’ll serve as a valued member of multidisciplinary teams, conducting educational assessments to identify student needs, and providing actionable insights to support student growth and success. Using your expertise in psychoeducational evaluations and compliance with IDEA, you will guide families and educators through the process and ensure the highest standard of care for every learner.
What You’ll Bring:
- NASP certification or LSSP credential from the Louisiana State Board of Examiners and Psychologists.
- Expertise in psychoeducational assessment, interpretation of assessment data, and writing comprehensive evaluation reports.
- A solid background in multidisciplinary team collaboration and special education eligibility processes.
- Strong case management, organization, and report-keeping skills.
- Excellent communication abilities to explain assessment results to parents, teachers, and school teams.
- A team-oriented attitude with a knack for collaborating across disciplines, including educators, diagnosticians, and school administrators.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct educational and behavioral assessments and provide timely, written reports.
- Work directly with students and families utilizing evidence-based educational methods.
- Maintain strong partnerships with school personnel to implement effective student and family support techniques.
- Guide and interpret assessment processes for parents, staff, and school leadership.
- Participate in and contribute to in-service training for both staff and parents.
- Maintain accurate case records and reports to ensure program continuity and accountability.
- Support the planning and implementation of individualized student programs.
