Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Illinois School Psychologist licensure required
- Previous experience with school-based psychological assessments and functional behavioral evaluations
- Expertise in re-evaluations, eligibility meetings, and conducting initial evaluations
- Strong understanding of special education law and protocols, especially related to early childhood
- Exceptional communication skills for collaborating with families, staff, and multidisciplinary teams
- Flexibility to travel between multiple sites as needed (for early childhood position)
- Ability to facilitate IEP meetings and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) data team meetings
- Commitment to supporting both students and staff in problem-solving within a school environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological evaluations and functional behavioral assessments for assigned caseload, including both initial and re-evaluation reviews
- Lead or participate in IEP meetings and assist in determining student eligibility for services
- Provide clear communication with families and school teams, offering support and education around special education processes
- Facilitate MTSS data team meetings and collaborate on intervention strategies
- Maintain thorough, compliant documentation in line with all state special education laws
