Step into a dynamic and impactful role supporting students from early childhood through 8th grade as a School Psychologist for the full academic year. This contract position offers the opportunity to work closely with two schools in the Vernon Hills and Lake Villa area, contributing your expertise to a diverse student population and collaborating with dedicated educators.
Your responsibilities will be balanced: half your time will focus on completing ECAT evaluations and participating in related meetings, while the other half will involve traditional school psychologist services at Lake Villa. Each workday runs from 8:00am to 3:30pm, totaling 7.5 hours and including a lunch break. This schedule guarantees ample time to engage with students and staff while maintaining a structured, predictable routine.
Qualifications and Experience Desired:
- Valid School Psychologist certification recognized in Illinois
- Experience working in school settings, preferably with students ranging from Early Childhood (EC) to 8th grade
- Familiarity with ECAT evaluation processes and IEP meetings
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
- Commitment to supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional growth
Role Responsibilities:
- Conduct and document ECAT evaluations for Early Childhood students
- Attend and contribute to evaluation and planning meetings
- Provide comprehensive psychological services for K-8 students at Lake Villa
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop intervention strategies
- Maintain appropriate records and ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines
