School Psychologist in Des Plaines, IL
Make a real difference for students this school year as a contract School Psychologist supporting a vibrant educational community near Des Plaines, IL. This full-year opportunity runs from August 19th through May 26th, with a consistent weekly schedule of 37.5 hours that lets you focus on building strong relationships and delivering high-quality psychological services. Flexibility is valued—you’ll primarily work onsite, with the possibility of hybrid arrangements as needed.
In this dynamic role, you’ll provide psychological services to students, focusing on a preschool caseload located within an elementary school setting. Collaboration is key, and you’ll serve as a support resource for various grade levels, with the number of schools you assist tailored to your experience and district needs.
Preferred qualifications and experience:
- Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Psychologist Endorsement, as required by the state
- Demonstrated experience as a School Psychologist in school settings
- Strong assessment, consultation, and intervention skills
- Ability to support students with a wide range of behavioral, emotional, and academic needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Commitment to confidentiality, inclusivity, and ethical practice
Daily responsibilities will include:
- Conducting psychoeducational assessments for eligibility and intervention planning
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, teachers, and families
- Providing individual and group counseling, as appropriate
- Supporting the development and implementation of IEPs
- Offering consultation and crisis intervention services
- Creating a positive, supportive learning environment for all students
