Make a meaningful impact on K-12 students by providing your expertise as a School Psychologist in a dynamic, supportive school environment. This contract opportunity runs from late July 2026 through late May 2027, offering part-time hours (29 per week) across multiple school sites, serving a diverse caseload of students from pre-K to grade 12. In this role, you will be a valued member of the multidisciplinary team, collaborating closely with educators, families, and support professionals to assess student needs and contribute to their academic and personal successes.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Louisiana DOE certification in School Psychology (active status required)
- Experience with psychoeducational assessments and IDEA compliance
- Proficiency in interpreting assessment data and writing thorough evaluation reports
- Solid understanding of special education eligibility criteria and multidisciplinary processes
- Exceptional communication skills, especially in conveying results to parents, staff, and educational teams
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities to meet evaluation timelines
- Prior experience collaborating with a variety of school professionals
- Bilingual abilities are a plus
Responsibilities:
- Conduct educational assessments, ensuring reports are submitted within required timelines
- Work directly with students and families using effective educational techniques
- Partner with teachers, administrators, and other staff to determine and implement support strategies
- Serve as a resource for families, connecting them with community services as appropriate
- Maintain accurate case files, documentation, and essential compliance records
- Participate in professional development days and in-service training
- Clearly explain assessment processes and findings to all stakeholders
- Assist with planning and tailoring programming to student needs
This position begins with professional development days in late July and is open to some hybrid flexibility. Candidates must complete district background and fingerprinting requirements.
