School Psychologist - Granger, Indiana
Step into a rewarding contract role supporting early learners’ growth and success as an on-site school psychologist specializing in Pre-K students. In this dynamic position, you’ll help young children and families navigate their first steps into school, primarily through personalized behavioral interventions and transition services designed to foster school readiness, social-emotional development, and positive classroom behavior.
You will be based at a facility dedicated to serving preschoolers with special needs and abilities, working alongside a highly collaborative multidisciplinary team—including psychologists, occupational and physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, autism consultants, teachers of record, and nursing professionals. Your primary caseload will center on Pre-K students participating in the First Step Transition program, with an estimated caseload of 70. Occasional additional hours may be required.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid School Psychologist credential (or eligibility) for practice in Indiana
- Experience with early childhood behavioral intervention, preferably in a school setting
- Familiarity with multi-disciplinary evaluations and team-based service delivery
- Strong background in progress monitoring, teacher/caregiver collaboration, and data-informed decision making
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfort engaging with families and young children
- Prior work with transition programming or behavioral supports for Pre-K populations is a plus
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct First Step Transition behavioral interventions to promote school readiness and positive classroom behavior for Pre-K students
- Collaborate with educators and families to implement evidence-based intervention strategies
- Conduct preschool evaluations, interpret results, and participate in two-day interdisciplinary intake assessments
- Offer teacher consultation, progress monitoring, and ongoing support to promote student success
This contract begins August 14, 2026, and runs through June 4, 2027.
