Qualifications & Experience Desired:
- Valid Kansas School Psychologist license (required)
- Previous experience working in K-12 settings is strongly preferred
- Familiarity with special education law, IEP processes, and multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS)
- Strong ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, educators, and families
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and report writing skills
- Ability to travel to assigned districts, all within a 20-minute radius of Emporia
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychoeducational assessments to determine eligibility and guide intervention planning
- Participate in student intervention and support teams (SIT, MTSS)
- Develop and monitor student IEPs, ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Provide counseling, consultation, and crisis support as needed for students
- Work collaboratively with educational staff to implement evidence-based academic and behavioral interventions
- Serve as a key resource for families, offering guidance and advocacy
