This contract opportunity, based near Lusby, MD, welcomes dedicated school psychologists to work in-person with a diverse caseload as part of the Department of Student Services. This full-time position runs from August 10, 2026, through June 17, 2027, offering you the chance to support student growth through the entire academic year.
Desired Background and Qualifications:
- Valid Maryland School Psychology License required
- Previous experience as a School Psychologist in K-12 settings preferred
- Proficiency in conducting assessments, writing reports, and designing effective interventions
- Strong collaborative skills for partnering with educators, support staff, and families
- Compassionate, resourceful, and adaptable approach to addressing students’ academic and mental health needs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative psychological services to students and staff
- Conduct psychoeducational and behavioral assessments
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in creating and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans
- Develop and implement evidence-based interventions and strategies to promote students’ social, emotional, and academic success
- Participate in crisis intervention and preventative mental health initiatives
- Deliver training and support to teachers and families on relevant student support topics
