School Psychologist in Lexington Park, MD
Make a difference in the lives of students as an in-person, contract School Psychologist for the upcoming 2026-2027 academic year. You’ll collaborate closely with the Department of Student Services to provide essential support, assessment, and intervention for a diverse caseload. This full-time role, based near Lexington Park, MD, runs from August 10, 2026, through June 17, 2027, offering the chance to contribute directly to student success in a vibrant educational environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Maryland School Psychology License required
- Strong background in educational and psychological assessments
- Effective communication, consultative, and crisis intervention skills
- Experience working as a school psychologist in an academic setting preferred
- Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and sensitivity
- Comfortable contributing to team-based approaches and collaborating with teachers, parents, and administrators
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological and educational evaluations
- Provide direct counseling and intervention services to students
- Develop and implement individualized education and behavioral plans
- Serve as a resource for educators, administrators, and families regarding student learning, mental health, and behavior
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings and IEP/504 plan development
- Support crisis response and intervention efforts as needed
