School Psychologist - Lexington, South Carolina
Make a meaningful difference in students’ lives as an onsite school psychologist working full-time in a dynamic and collaborative educational environment. You’ll conduct comprehensive assessments, provide vital mental health services, and serve as a resource for staff, students, and families throughout the academic year.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in School Psychology
- At least two years’ experience as a school psychologist intern or a comparable combination of education and experience
- State certification as a School Psychologist
- Proficient in administering, scoring, and interpreting psychoeducational assessments
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and professionals
- Capable of confidentially handling sensitive data and complex cases
- Able to utilize computers and technology for reporting, communication, and case management
- Physically able to perform typical office and school-related duties (sitting, standing, occasional lifting up to 10 lbs)
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer individual psychological and educational evaluations to determine eligibility for special services
- Prepare thorough, clear reports and communicate findings to parents, educators, and multidisciplinary teams
- Provide direct mental health services, including individual and group counseling
- Consult and collaborate with teachers, parents, administrators, and external professionals to support positive student outcomes
- Participate actively in student assessment teams, IEP development, and crisis intervention efforts
- Keep accurate records, complete required documentation (including forms for Medicaid reimbursement), and remain current with relevant legislation and professional best practices
- Contribute to staff and parent training as needed
