Desired Credentials & Experience:
- Valid CDE Special Service Provider License with a School Psychology endorsement
- Master’s, Specialist, or Doctorate degree in School Psychology
- Proven school psychology experience in K-8 educational settings
- Robust assessment skills across cognitive, social, emotional, behavioral, and adaptive domains
- Outstanding oral and written communication abilities
- Analytical mindset with strong organizational and collaboration capacities
- Calm under pressure—effective in crisis management
- Advanced proficiency in technology and documentation systems
- Ability to work respectfully with students, staff, and families from diverse backgrounds
- Completion of background check and fingerprinting is required
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver group and individual counseling for students in special education, aligned with IEP mental health goals
- Engage in system, group, and individual interventions fostering academic and social/emotional development
- Complete comprehensive assessments and write detailed evaluation reports
- Respond to crises with risk assessments and support, including threat and safety plan development
- Lead and participate in multidisciplinary meetings (IEP, MTSS, behavior, special education)
- Collaborate extensively with educators, social workers, and outside service providers
- Provide training and consultation for educators, students, and families
- Support implementation of general education interventions and connect families to community resources
