School Psychologist - Mechanicsville, Maryland
Embark on a rewarding school-based contract role as a School Psychologist, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional development within a collaborative environment. This position is situated near Mechanicsville, MD with a full-time schedule, starting August 10th, 2026, and concluding June 17th, 2027. The Department of Student Services is seeking a couple of in-person professionals passionate about making a difference in the lives of students.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current and valid Maryland School Psychology License
- Previous experience as a School Psychologist in an educational setting
- Expertise in assessment, intervention, consultation, and counseling
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and support teams
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and interpret results
- Collaborate on the development and implementation of IEPs and behavior intervention plans
- Provide counseling, crisis intervention, and consultative services to students, staff, and families
- Deliver professional recommendations to educators and administrators for student support
- Advocate for students’ social-emotional and academic needs
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and district initiatives
- Maintain thorough and compliant documentation
