School Psychologist in Middletown, NY
Step into a meaningful position as a School Psychologist supporting middle school students for the 2026/2027 academic year. In this contract role, you'll have the opportunity to make a significant impact, working Monday through Friday (35 hours weekly), from 7:15am to 2:15pm. You'll collaborate closely with another experienced school psychologist, allowing for shared expertise and support as you address a diverse range of student needs.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid certification or licensure as a School Psychologist
- Experience with middle school-aged students preferred
- Strong background in individual and group counseling
- Proficiency in conducting evaluations, re-evaluations, and report writing
- Ability to chair Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings effectively
- Skilled in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct counseling and social-emotional support to students
- Complete comprehensive psychoeducational assessments and re-evaluations
- Facilitate and chair CSE meetings, ensuring compliance and collaboration
- Work closely with teachers, administrators, and families to develop student support plans
- Respond promptly to crisis situations, employing de-escalation strategies
- Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to a welcoming school climate
