Sunbelt is seeking a dedicated and highly collaborative Special Education Teacher to support middle school students in a resource setting in Bloomington, MN. The ideal candidate will have strong instructional skills, excellent attendance, and the ability to create a structured, supportive classroom environment
Position: Special Education Resource Teacher
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction and support to middle school students in a resource setting
- Develop and implement effective classroom structures, routines, and behavior supports
- Implement and monitor behavior intervention plans and behavior strategies if needed
- Deliver strong, differentiated instruction based on individual student needs
- Collaborate closely with special education and general education teachers
- Coordinate and collaborate with paraprofessionals to ensure consistent student support
- Support student progress toward IEP goals and maintain appropriate documentation
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and other members of the student support team
- Maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment
- Demonstrate reliable and consistent attendance
Qualifications
Required: Minnesota Teaching Credential in one of the following areas:
- Special Education: Autism Spectrum Disorders
- Special Education: Developmental Disabilities
- Special Education: Early Childhood
- Special Education: Emotional Behavioral Disorders
- Special Education: Learning Disabilities
- Special Education: Academic & Behavioral Strategist

- Have excellent attendance and reliability
- Be knowledgeable about behavior plans and behavioral supports
- Have strong classroom management skills and an understanding of effective classroom structures and routines
- Demonstrate strong instructional and differentiation skills
- Work effectively with both special education and general education teams
- Have experience scheduling, directing, and collaborating with paraprofessionals
- Build positive relationships with students and colleagues
- Be organized, flexible, and committed to student success
