School-Based Psychologist

Position Overview
Seeking a dedicated and student-centered School Psychologist to support the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral success of students across our school community. The School Psychologist will collaborate with families, teachers, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive psychological services, promote student well-being, and support data-driven educational decision-making.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping students achieve their full potential and committed to creating safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments.
Essential Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations and assessments to determine student strengths, needs, and eligibility for special education services.
- Interpret assessment results and prepare clear, comprehensive written reports.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and Individualized Education Program (IEP) development.
- Provide consultation to teachers, administrators, and families regarding academic, behavioral, social, and emotional concerns.
- Develop and recommend evidence-based interventions and support plans.
- Assist in the implementation of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).
- Provide individual and group counseling services as appropriate.
- Conduct functional behavioral assessments (FBAs) and support behavior intervention planning.
- Assist with crisis prevention, intervention, and response efforts.
- Collaborate with community agencies, service providers, and outside professionals to coordinate student support services.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Support district initiatives related to student mental health, wellness, and school climate.
- Participate in professional learning opportunities and maintain current professional knowledge and licensure requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Master's, Specialist (Ed.S.), or Doctoral Degree in School Psychology from an accredited institution.
- Valid Indiana School Psychologist License issued by the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE), or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to employment.
- Completion of an approved school psychology preparation program, including supervised internship requirements.
- Knowledge of federal and state special education laws and regulations, including IDEA and Indiana Article 7 requirements.
- Strong skills in psychological assessment, data analysis, counseling, consultation, and problem-solving.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students, families, educators, and community stakeholders.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional ethical standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a K-12 educational setting.
- Experience conducting psychoeducational evaluations and behavioral assessments.
- Familiarity with MTSS, PBIS, and evidence-based intervention frameworks.
- Experience supporting diverse student populations.
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus.
