Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a School Psychologist working with middle school students for the 2026/2027 academic year. This role is based near New Paltz, NY, within a supportive environment alongside another experienced school psychologist. Your regular hours will be Monday through Friday, 7:15am to 2:15pm, totaling 35 hours per week.
Required Qualifications:
- Certification as a School Psychologist
- Previous experience working with middle school students preferred
- Strong knowledge in conducting evaluations and re-evaluations
- Ability to provide individual and group counseling
- Familiarity with crisis response and de-escalation strategies
- Excellent communication skills for leading and chairing CSE meetings
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct counseling services to middle school students
- Administer assessments for initial and re-evaluations, interpreting and documenting results
- Collaborate with teachers, administration, and families to support student success
- Chair Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings, ensuring compliance and advocacy
- Participate in crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed
- Work closely with the building’s other school psychologist for case consultation and program planning
