A rewarding opportunity is available for an on-site, contract School Psychologist to make a real difference with early learners. This position is designed for professionals passionate about early intervention and supportive transitions, focusing primarily on Pre-K students in a specialized preschool setting.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid certification/licensure as a School Psychologist
- Experience or strong interest in early childhood education and behavioral intervention
- Familiarity with First Step Transition or similar early intervention programs is a plus
- Ability to collaborate well with multidisciplinary teams (e.g., OT, PT, SLP, Autism Consultant, nurse)
- Strong communication skills for working with young children, educators, and families
- Commitment to evidence-based practices supporting school readiness and social-emotional growth
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site behavioral intervention services for Pre-K students to foster positive classroom conduct and ease transition into formal schooling
- Implement the First Step Transition program, including direct support, behavioral coaching, teacher consultation, and ongoing progress monitoring
- Deliver early interventions and transition support for Pre-K students, collaborating closely with families to encourage school success
- Engage in classroom consultation and teacher support, promoting an environment attuned to children’s developmental and emotional needs
- Partner with a multidisciplinary team for preschool evaluations and comprehensive two-day testing with children and parents
- Maintain a typical caseload of approximately 70 students, providing services primarily at a center dedicated to children with special needs and abilities
This contract begins August 14, 2026, and continues through June 4, 2027. The schedule is 35 hours weekly, with occasional additional time as required. In this vital role, you’ll be key in preparing young learners for their educational journey.
