Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting K-12 students as a School Psychologist near Portsmouth, VA! This role runs from ASAP through June 6, 2025, with a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week (8:45 am – 3:45 pm). You’ll have input into caseload assignments to help match your preferences and strengths.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological assessments, including testing and diagnostic evaluations
- Recommend evidence-based strategies to help students overcome learning or behavioral challenges
- Provide both individual and group therapeutic support
- Collaborate on identification and placement of students needing specialized services
- Implement behavior modification interventions
- Communicate proactively with parents, teachers, and other support staff
- Maintain organized records and write comprehensive progress reports
Qualifications:
- Valid School Psychologist license in the state of Virginia
- Training or experience with K-12 school environments
- Strong assessment, counseling, and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
