School Psychologist | Portsmouth, Virginia

Make a positive impact in the lives of students by supporting their academic and emotional growth. This contract position is based in the Virginia Beach area and requires a dedicated on-site School Psychologist. You will work full-time, Monday through Friday (35 hours per week), supporting students across one or more schools—specific assignments will be discussed during the interview process. You’ll collaborate with educators and families to develop effective interventions and promote student success.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Virginia Department of Education (VA DOE) Licensure required
- Current license as a School Psychologist in Virginia
- Prior experience in a school setting is highly desirable
- Strong assessment, consultation, and counseling skills
- Ability to work on-site; this position is not open to virtual or hybrid work
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations and assessments for students
- Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and provide recommendations to support student learning
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and other educational staff
- Offer crisis intervention, counseling, and guidance services as appropriate
- Maintain accurate documentation in line with school and district policies
- Flexibility to support different age groups as assigned

The district is hosting interviews on June 25 (anytime between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM), July 1 (1:00 PM), or July 13 (between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM). The assignment starts August 31, 2026, and continues through June 15, 2027.
