An exciting contract opportunity is available for a skilled professional passionate about supporting K-12 students across multiple school sites. This role focuses primarily on discipline-related referrals, working as a valued member of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to identifying and addressing student needs through comprehensive educational assessments.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid NASP certification or LSSP credential from the Louisiana State Board of Examiners and Psychologists required
- Demonstrated experience conducting psychoeducational assessments and interpreting complex data
- Knowledge of IDEA compliance and special education eligibility requirements
- Experience writing thorough, actionable evaluation reports
- Strong communication skills to clearly share assessment results with parents, educators, and school teams
- Effective collaborative skills; ability to work alongside diagnosticians, social workers, speech-language pathologists, and administrators
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities to adhere to mandated timelines
- Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as part of a multidisciplinary team to identify student needs and provide educational assessments
- Administer, score, and interpret assessment instruments appropriately and within established timeframes
- Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports; participate in planning programs for individual students
- Maintain open, frequent communication with families, school staff, and administrative teams
- Refer students and families to community resources when appropriate
- Keep accurate, up-to-date case records and ensure all documentation aligns with program accountability standards
- Participate in school-based in-service trainings and help train school staff and parents regarding assessment practices
The contract is structured for 29 hours per week throughout the school year, serving a diverse K-12 population at several campuses. District background check/fingerprinting is required prior to start.
