School Psychologist – Preschool (Pre-K) – 2026–2027 School Year
A school district is seeking an onsite School Psychologist to support preschool-aged students at the McKinley School, home to the district's Special Needs and Abilities Preschool (SNAP). This unique opportunity focuses on early intervention, preschool evaluations, and helping young learners successfully transition into the school environment.
Position Details
- Position: School Psychologist
- Location: McKinley School (SNAP Preschool)
- Setting: Onsite Only (No Virtual Services)
- Assignment Dates: August 14, 2026 – June 4, 2027
- Schedule: 35 Hours per Week (occasional additional hours may be needed)
- Student Population: Pre-K
- Typical Caseload: Approximately 70 students
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive preschool psychoeducational evaluations
- Participate in multidisciplinary evaluation teams alongside Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, Autism Consultants, Teachers of Record, nurses, and other specialists
- Provide behavioral consultation and intervention for preschool students
- Support students transitioning into the school setting through the First Step Transition program
- Collaborate with teachers and families to promote school readiness, social-emotional development, and positive classroom behaviors
- Monitor student progress and recommend appropriate interventions
- Participate in eligibility, IEP, and multidisciplinary team meetings
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with special education timelines

In this role, you will:
- Provide behavioral intervention services to support school readiness
- Implement evidence-based behavioral strategies for Pre-K students
- Offer classroom consultation and behavioral coaching
- Collaborate closely with families and caregivers to support successful school transitions
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed
