This role runs from August 31st through November 2026, focused on PreK through 2nd-grade students. As a valued member of the school's team near Waterbury, CT, you'll provide expertise in evaluations, counseling, and IEP development, and play a crucial part on the crisis intervention team.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid School Psychologist certification/licensure
- Background working with PreK–2nd grade students is strongly preferred
- Experience conducting psychoeducational evaluations and interpreting assessment data
- Proficiency in counseling young children individually and in groups
- Ability to write, finalize, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong crisis intervention skills and previous crisis team involvement a plus
- Excellent collaboration and communication abilities with students, families, and educational staff
Expectations in This Role:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and interpret results for eligibility and educational planning
- Provide counseling services tailored to early elementary students’ social, emotional, and behavioral needs
- Collaborate with teachers and families to develop and implement effective support strategies
- Prepare and finalize IEPs to ensure compliance and student growth
- Respond as a key member of the school’s crisis team, supporting students and staff during emergent situations
- Engage in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute thoughtfully to student success plans
This contract offers a competitive pay rate of $50–$60 per hour, reflecting your specialized skills and commitment to student well-being.
