Make a powerful impact in the lives of students by providing crucial psychological support and guidance throughout the academic year. This contract opportunity offers the chance to work onsite (with select openings for virtual roles) in a dynamic school system near Columbia, SC, with a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week. You’ll play a key role in supporting students’ educational and emotional journeys.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations to determine student eligibility for special education services
- Administer, score, and report ability, achievement, personality, and behavioral assessments
- Communicate results clearly to teachers, parents, and school staff
- Provide individual and group counseling services to address mental health needs
- Consult with educators, parents, and external agencies to enhance students’ learning and well-being
- Participate in multidisciplinary placement and IEP meetings, reviewing assessments and contributing to educational planning
- Deliver crisis intervention services and coordinate crisis management programs at both school and district levels
- Collaborate with medical, mental health, and social agencies to optimize support for students and families
- Lead in-service training and professional development for teachers and parents
- Maintain thorough records, submit reports, and manage required documentation, including Medicaid-related forms
Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in school psychology required
- State certification as a School Psychologist
- Minimum two years of experience as a school psychologist intern (or equivalent)
- Strong skills in evaluation, report writing, data analysis, and collaboration
- Comfortable with use of technology for documentation and communication
- Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication abilities
- Ability to adapt to changing needs and handle stressful situations with professionalism
