School Psychologist | West Columbia, South Carolina
Step into a vital role supporting student achievement and well-being as a contracted school psychologist near the Columbia, SC area. This is a full-time, onsite position running from August 6, 2026, through May 27, 2027, and offers a rewarding opportunity to collaborate within a dynamic educational environment. You’ll work 37.5 hours per week, addressing the diverse needs of students through assessment, counseling, consultation, and crisis intervention.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in school psychology or related field, with relevant internship experience (minimum two years preferred)
- State certification as a School Psychologist required
- Skilled in conducting comprehensive psychoeducational assessments, interpreting data, and preparing formal reports
- Strong collaborative approach and experience working with multidisciplinary teams, teachers, administrators, parents, and external agencies
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—with the ability to present findings to varied audiences
- Ability to provide crisis intervention, group, and individual counseling supports
- Competency in using computer systems for reporting, data entry, and test scoring
- Able to perform sedentary work but also move and lift light objects as needed
Role Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychoeducational evaluations and communicate results to families and school personnel
- Observe and document student behavior; analyze records and relevant medical and parental input
- Provide direct mental health services including counseling and crisis management
- Participate in IEP development and multidisciplinary placement meetings
- Consult with staff and families to recommend strategies enhancing academic/social development
- Coordinate with community agencies for comprehensive student support
- Actively participate in professional development, maintaining knowledge of current field standards and legislation
- Complete required documentation for student information, Medicaid reimbursement, and professional reporting
