Step into a fulfilling role providing vital support to students and staff as a School Psychologist on a contract basis. This opportunity is located near Williamsburg, VA, serving both a middle school and an elementary school setting. You’ll play a key role in the academic year, ideally starting August 3, but August 10 or August 24 are also acceptable start dates. The assignment runs through the second week of June, offering a consistent schedule of 37.5 hours per week (8-hour days with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break).
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid certification or licensure in School Psychology required
- Experience conducting psychological evaluations in school settings
- Familiarity with Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and student counseling
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, parents, and educational teams
- Ability to manage a varied caseload effectively and independently
Responsibilities:
- Complete 60-80 psychological evaluations annually (psych testing only, no educational testing)
- Conduct FBAs to assist with intervention planning and behavioral strategies
- Provide counseling services to students as needed, addressing behavioral, emotional, or social concerns
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and support staff to promote positive outcomes for students
- Maintain thorough documentation and adhere to all federal, state, and local guidelines
