Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a school psychologist serving a diverse student population near Winnetka, IL. This full-time assignment spans the 2026-2027 academic year, from August 26, 2026, to June 11, 2027, with weekday hours. Multiple roles are available, each supporting students and staff across various school levels.
Primary responsibilities include conducting re-evaluation reviews, eligibility meetings, and functional behavioral assessments, with some initial evaluations as well. Depending on assignment, your work may focus on early childhood (ages 3-5), elementary (K-4), middle, or high school caseloads. Early childhood positions require travel between several local preschools, as well as expertise in early childhood assessment and special education law.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Illinois School Psychologist license required
- Experience with early childhood, elementary, middle, or high school caseloads
- Deep understanding of special education law and best practices, particularly in early intervention and early childhood assessments
- Strong ability to conduct functional behavioral assessments and eligibility determinations
- Outstanding communication skills, with a commitment to collaboration among families, general and special education staff, and other stakeholders
- Ability to travel between sites as needed (especially for early childhood assignments)
Responsibilities:
- Conduct screenings, evaluations, re-evaluations, and eligibility meetings
- Participate in and lead IEP meetings
- Facilitate MTSS data team meetings and support problem-solving processes
- Maintain thorough documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant education laws
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and offer guidance regarding student needs
