Qualifications & Experience:
- Current and valid NY School Psychologist license (NY PSYCH. required)
- Experience working in elementary school settings preferred
- Solid understanding of counseling, assessment, and intervention strategies for children
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, parents, and support staff
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
- Commitment to ethical practice and student confidentiality
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive psychological evaluations for elementary-aged students
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions promoting wellness and positive behaviors
- Develop and assist with implementation of IEPs, Section 504 plans, and intervention strategies
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings and eligibility determinations
- Consult with teachers and families to address academic, behavioral, and emotional needs
- Contribute to crisis intervention and prevention programs as needed
Key Details:
- Contract position starting as soon as possible, continuing through June 10
- Full-time hours, approximately 8:45 AM – 4:00 PM each school day
- Assigned to elementary school(s), working with a diverse caseload of young students
- Opportunity to extend for the 2026-2027 school year, from September 8, 2026 through late June 2027
