This full-time contract role provides a chance to collaborate with educators and families in a cohesive school community of approximately 700 students. Working on-site, your expertise will help foster positive outcomes and ensure all students receive the support they need to thrive.
In this role, your day will start at 8:00 AM and conclude at 3:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch break. You’ll join a team focused on holistic solutions and tailor interventions to the unique needs of every child.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois PEL with School Psychologist Endorsement
- Robust experience utilizing play-based assessment in an educational environment
- Proficient in conducting student evaluations that go beyond traditional standardized psychoeducational tests, demonstrating creativity and flexibility
- Passion for working within PK–8 settings and supporting a diverse range of learners
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological and educational assessments using a variety of methods, including play-based approaches
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to design and monitor effective intervention plans
- Provide support and guidance through consultation, counseling, and crisis intervention as needed
- Prepare clear, insightful reports and participate in IEP meetings to advocate for appropriate student services
- Maintain current knowledge of best practices in educational psychology and comply with state and federal regulations
