Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students’ growth and success in a schools setting. This opportunity involves working with PreK through middle school-aged children in a collaborative environment, and you will join a dedicated team of school psychologists recognized for their passion and expertise.
This position covers a maternity leave period from late August 2026 through mid-November 2027. You’ll be welcomed into a supportive district environment, where you’ll work onsite alongside two other school psychologists to address students’ needs through evaluations, assessments, and individualized interventions.
Essential Qualifications:
- Current Michigan School Psychologist certification required
- Prior experience in K-8 school settings strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of evaluation, assessment, and special education processes
- Proficiency in using Q Global, PowerSchool, and MiPSE SPED database systems
- Adept at crafting clear, actionable reports and maintaining accurate student records
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to build trust with students, families, and staff
- Comfortable working on-site and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations, including initials and re-evaluations
- Assess student needs and provide recommendations for academic and behavioral interventions
- Collaborate closely with peers, teachers, and families within a positive campus culture
- Complete required documentation and maintain confidential records according to district/state guidelines
- Support development and implementation of IEPs
- Participate in meetings, consultations, and professional development as needed
This is a full-time role, averaging approximately 36 hours per week. The district values your expertise and commitment to supporting students’ well-being. Initial interviews will be held virtually for your convenience, with the district director available to connect and answer questions.
