School Psychologist in Chicago, IL
Step into a highly rewarding role as a School Psychologist serving students in the greater Chicago, IL, area, including Elmwood Park and surrounding communities. This full-time contract opportunity runs from August 17, 2026, through May 28, 2027, and offers a stable and engaging work schedule—Monday through Friday, 7:45 am to 3:15 pm, totaling 35 hours per week.
In this key position, you'll work with a diverse PreK–5th grade caseload at an elementary setting, making a direct impact in the lives of young learners while collaborating closely with a dedicated educational team.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid license or certification as a School Psychologist
- Experience or strong understanding of school-based psychological services
- Background in performing initial and re-evaluation assessments for elementary-aged students
- Familiarity with the early intervention process and transitions into school-age services
- Ability to support crisis response teams and implement appropriate interventions
- Positive communication skills, adaptability, and strong collaboration with educators and families
Core Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and re-evaluations for students transitioning from early intervention through 5th grade
- Provide ongoing consultation and recommendations to teachers and staff regarding student needs
- Serve as an integral member of the crisis response team, assisting with prevention, intervention, and follow-up services as needed
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and community resources to ensure holistic support for students
- Maintain detailed records and documentation in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations
