Step into a vital role supporting K-8 students through in-person services as a contract School Psychologist. Your expertise will be central to assessing, identifying, and addressing the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs that help every child thrive in the school environment. The assignment averages 37.5 hours per week across two Chicago campuses, focusing on collaboration, compliance, and student-centered interventions.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or higher in Psychology or Educational Psychology
- Active, valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Psychologist Endorsement
- Minimum of 2+ years of school-based experience
- In-depth understanding of LEARN’s Core Values and a passion for fostering student success
- Persistent, intentional approach to student well-being and achievement
Responsibilities:
- Identify and support students with academic and social-emotional needs through evidence-based evaluation and intervention
- Participate as a key member of SPED, 504, and MTSS teams, ensuring scholars are appropriately screened, evaluated, and supported according to compliance guidelines
- Lead interventions, progress monitoring, and documentation for Tier 3 students
- Serve as a resource and liaison for teachers, administrators, and parents on child development and learning disorders
- Prepare and present reports, attend IEP/504/problem-solving meetings, and maintain diligent records
- Consult on MTSS systems and oversee implementation of individualized student plans
- Foster clear, consistent communication with families and staff, responding to questions and providing guidance
- Keep current on evidence-based practices and share knowledge via professional development
- Ensure full compliance with all Network, federal, state, and local regulations
