Step into an impactful role supporting K-8 students as a School Psychologist, working with dedicated professionals near the vibrant Chicago area. You’ll focus primarily on conducting IEP evaluations within both inclusive (LRE1) and self-contained (LRE2) classroom settings, supported by a knowledgeable Dean of Specialized Services.
Key Qualifications:
- Active School Psychologist license in Illinois
- Professional Educator License (PEL) required
- Successfully completed background check (to be handled by the school)
- Experience with IEP evaluations and diverse student populations
- Comfort working with both inclusion and self-contained classroom types
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaborative skills
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive IEP evaluations for a caseload of approximately 84 students (70 LRE1, 12 LRE2)
- Collaborate with staff and families to support students’ educational needs
- Analyze assessment results and contribute to student-specific recommendations
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to goal setting
- Ensure timely completion and documentation of evaluations in compliance with district requirements
- Serve as a resource for teachers and families regarding behavioral, academic, and social-emotional development
Position Details:
- Start as soon as possible through end of the school year
- Initial schedule: 2-3 days per week (20-30 hours weekly), transitioning to 1 day a week (7-8 hours)
- Work across one or more sites (TBD) supporting grades K-8
